Surrounded by the majestic mountains on all sides, a road leading until here and then ending at this village, a glacial river flowing down and clouds floating around, with the sun rising in the backdrop; yes, that is Chitkul for you! Asia
The largest continent in the world that hosts 60% of the world’s total population along with the magnificent Himalayas and the lush green rainforests as well as the vast stretches of desert, Asia is undoubtedly a mysterious land full of amazing things. Being in love with the snow-clad Himalayas, unique cultures, warm people, diverse topography, colorful festivities, and delicious cuisines – we’ve had our best journeys exploring the nooks and corners of India and then traversing beyond the borders – hopping around mostly the Southeast Asian countries.
Our first international trip together was to Bhutan – the ‘Happiest Country In The World’ as they say, and we had a month to spend there – ticking off nearly all that was there in our bucket list. Later we traveled to Singapore where RD’s cousins lived and had a ‘home away from home’ feeling while being on a vacay. To celebrate RD’s 30th birthday, we took a ‘Mountain Flight’ to get a closer look at the Mt.Everest in Nepal and then backpacked across Cambodia, wandering around the ruins of Angkor. In 2019, Riyanka tripped to Thailand with her childhood buddy and had a crazy island hopping experience!
Together (and sometimes on our own!), we have been taking baby steps of fulfilling our travel dreams and slowly exploring places, learning more through experiences, and weaving beautiful stories worth sharing.
So scroll down to read more about our journeys across Asia :)
